Join My Latest Community Cookie Collection

Here in Missouri, we usually go from winter to summer in the blink of an eye, but this year we’ve had an especially long spring! {Insert huge smile.} The ever-so-gradual warm-up has given me lots of time to appreciate the various messengers of the season - the downy chicks on our farm, the ungainly sprouts of first grass, the butterflies investigating our budding viburnum and lilacs . . . With nature shouting out all around me, it’s no wonder it’s factored heavily into my recent cookie designs. Yours too, I suspect!

But, alas, the temp took an abrupt upward turn today. {Insert huge grimace.} I want spring to last! And so, in an attempt to prove false that old adage “all good things must come to an end,” I’ve decided to launch another cookie link-up. This one celebrates spring, with the theme “Spring it On” - a call to each of us to dwell longer in my favorite season.

Happy Easter Cookie Roundup!

Finally! The last of our recent 8 inches of snow has melted, my daffodils are almost in full bloom, and I’m totally warmed up to the idea of springtime! Are you?

I’ve been really, really busy juggling the start-up of various work projects - an app, a new and improved YouTube channel, a book, a soon-to-start guest blogging deal - all very exciting. Sorry, I digress . . . Somewhere in the middle of this madness, I still managed to catch my annual spring cookie decorating fever. Eggs, bunnies, flowers . . . even simple shapes offer up a world of spring-y possibilities, especially when you start thinking in 3-D!

Continue to catch a glimpse of what I mean.

It’s Here!
Julia's Ultimate Cookie Decorating Series

At long last, I’ve finished it - “it” being the companion video series to my latest cookie decorating book Ultimate Cookies! I’m a firm believer that creativity is best expressed once you’ve mastered the fundamentals, and so the series is organized around techniques, rather than projects (though I show several projects along the way). There are 16 lessons, spanning four hours of footage, which you can purchase in DVD format.
